Hello, I’m Jacqueline, Knowledge Anywhere’s Marketing Lead, and today we’re going to be going over an exciting new Scormify feature. So, if we’re on step one, select “Type,” we’re going to go “Upload Video File.” This allows you to directly upload a video file alongside some really cool new features, which I’ll show you later on in the process.
I’m going to put the title as “Webinar” because that’s what it is, and I personally like the style of the course to be dark. You could also choose default, but I’m going to stay with dark for now. My native language is English, but as you can see, there are tons of other options, so I’m going to keep it as English.
A completion rate really refers to the amount or the percentage of the video you want your learner to see before you mark it as complete. Let’s say I want my learners to be able to see most of the video, but maybe sticking around to the very end where there are the goodbyes and thank yous aren’t necessary, so I’m going to say they have to watch 90% before I mark it complete.
The next part is my absolute favorite. “Add a Quiz” is a brand new feature that allows you to insert quiz questions in your video at key intervals and then have learners be able to answer them as they watch the video. This allows for a level of interactivity that we really haven’t had beforeāit’s very exciting. So, I’m going to select the webinar video file and let’s just give it a few moments to load.
Now that we’ve seen it download or upload right here, if you wanted to remove this, you would just click this “X” and start the process over, but I’d like to keep it, so we’re going to hit “Create” and “Next.”
Now you can see the webinar here; you can play it, rewind it, right at the beginning, I’d like to insert my first question. Here are the types of questions that we have available: multiple choice, multiple select, true/false, and tip. As we innovate with this tool, we will add more, but let’s go with a tip right at the beginning. This is not an ability for them to answer me, but for me to reach out to the learners.
So, “Tip: This is a quizzed video, so pay attention.” This just kind of gets them aware and alert right off the bat. Things with interactive elements usually have a much higher attention span, much more engagement, which is what we’re looking for in e-learning. So, I’ll click “Save,” and you can see that the first question is right there.
You can play, you can pause, you can rewind. Because I know this video pretty well, I know exactly where I’m going to put the questions. If you’d like to listen to your video slower, you can. So, for the first example of a multiple-choice question, see right here how it says over 50 million U.S. kids are learning remotely? I’m going to go to where this screen ends, I’m going to insert my multiple-choice question, and I’m going to ask that exact same question: “How many U.S. kids learn remotely?” Let’s say it’s going to be 30 million, 50 million, and 80 million.
If you’d like to add another answer, you just click “Add Answer.” And if you’d like to delete those, if you’d only want three or four or however many you want, you just click this red trash can. So, you’ll see on this right-hand side it says “Correct,” you’re going to mark the correct answer, which we all know is 50 million. So, we’re going to mark it as correct and “Add,” or I’m sorry, “Save.”
So we can see that the second question lives right here. And let’s say, at the very end, I want to insert a question that says true/false: “Most U.S. professionals have a training program.” If you watch the whole video, you would know that this is false. So, we’re going to click “False” and “Save.”
When you’re done inserting the questions or the amount that you would like, you can put the passing score. This is a number from zero to a hundred, think of them as percentage points. Because I had only two very easy questions, I would put it at a hundred. But let’s say you pack this chock-full with 20 questions, let’s say you want to do 80, so if they get 80% correct, then they would pass this quiz.
If you’d like to preview your work, you can preview it here and hit “Play.” This is exactly how your learner would see it. This is a quiz video, so pay attention. And they cannot go forward or back because then it makes sure that they don’t skip ahead and that that 90% completion rate is really true. I’m going to skip ahead personally, just so you can see the part with the multiple-choice. So now, you can see, it pops up: “How many U.S. kids learn remotely?” We know the answer is 50 million. Let’s say we choose wrong.
Now that you have seen the preview and you like how it looks, you’re going to just hit “Publish.” Almost instantaneously, it moves you to this third section, which is “Download.” You can see
it was a success, so we’re going to hit “Download,” and you can see if we open this up right here, it has our SCORM video with our inlaid, inserted quiz questions that allows this whole feature to be interactive to the end learner.
So, I hope you’re really excited about this new feature. My team and I certainly are. And if you have any questions, please reach out to support@knowledgeanywhere.com. Thank you.
