Hello, I’m Jacqueline, Knowledge Anywhere’s Marketing Lead, and today we’re going to go over how to view and assign prerequisites for any course within a learning path. Right now, we’re in the administrative dashboard in our LMS, and we’re going to select ‘content’ on this left-hand side menu bar. Now that we’re in the content, we’re going to go under ‘organize content’ and ‘learning paths.’ From here, search for a learning path name that you’re interested in; for this example, we’ll choose ‘Customer Service.’

Once we’re on the learning path page, go to ‘courses.’ From here, you can see any courses that are currently in this learning path. You can choose to add some, edit, or take away. If at any point you wish to assign prerequisites to any course, first see how many prerequisites are assigned to that course. To add a prerequisite, click on the number hyperlink in the prerequisites column. This opens a panel showing the possible courses you can pick as a prerequisite.

Right now, I’m going to pick a course; let’s say that I want them to take ‘How to Handle Tough Customers’ before we talk about ‘Great Customer Conversations.’ I’ll hit apply, and you can see there’s now one prerequisite to take this course. If you would like to change the order of the courses at any time, simply drag and drop here. Be sure to use the save button at the bottom to save, and it will show you a green banner for success if you’ve done it correctly. If we want to see what this looks like on the learner side, go up to your top right-hand bar and click ‘learner view.’ Navigate over to ‘learning paths’ and type in ‘customer.’ You can see what we’ve done on the admin side here, as it says ‘prerequisite required for this course.’ This shows how you can have your learners take courses assigned to them in a certain order.
