Hello, I’m Jacqueline, Knowledge Anywhere’s Marketing Lead, and today we’re going to go over how to add and customize a certificate. This is a great way to give recognition for completed training, acquired skills, and proving competence within your LMS. It’s also a fun way to engage your learners and motivate them to keep learning. After all, they can add this achievement onto their internal training as well as on their social media, such as LinkedIn. Let’s start.
We’re on the admin side of the Knowledge Anywhere LMS under content in this left-hand corner. From here, you’re going to go up to content add-ons and down to certificates. Within your certificates, there’ll be a default option, which will be pretty plain and not customized. So, if you would like to add a customized version, simply click ‘add certificates.’
Then, we could change the background to something we love, for example, here’s a blank template if I would like it to be a bit more jazzed up than a simple white background. So, I’m going to crop and save the image. You can see how it’s going to look here, and all of this will be auto-filled depending on the learner’s name, the course, when it’s completed, etc. If you would like the certificate of completion to be a different color according to your brand, and you want it to be left alone, you can make whatever changes you want here. Let’s say I want it to be 45, and my brand font is TOA; you can simply close it, and you’ll see those changes on the preview section on the right-hand side. You can go through the rest of this to make whatever changes you would like. Please keep in mind that this only changes the formatting; it does not change the actual words.
For example, the learner’s name will be filled in with the learner’s actual name. Right now, you can only change where that shows up. So, when you’re satisfied, be sure to save at the bottom. Now that we have a certificate called ‘basic test,’ we can see that it’s assigned to zero courses. To change that, we can go to manage content and courses and choose a course that you would like to add this to. For this example, I’m going to use Forklift Safety. If we go over to the configuration tab and the certificate tab in the right-hand corner, you can click ‘add a certificate,’ and you can see all of the defaults.
For example, this is the default; this is ‘no certificate,’ which we have right now, and ‘basic test’ is the one we just created. If I decide to save this, which you’ll see in this upper left-hand green bar as successful, then the learners will be able to see the certificate on their side once they complete this course. Let’s see how it looks to learners. If you go over to learner view and e-learning paths, I’m going to look up ‘forklift.’ You’ll see this certificate of completion is available here. When a learner completes a course, they’ll automatically get this certificate of completion, which can be downloaded and seen on their transcripts.
This has been a very basic overview of how to create and edit certificates of completion to personalize them to your organization. If you have any further questions, please reach out to support@knowledgeanywhere.com. Thank you.
