Hi everyone, it’s Karsten from Knowledge Anywhere. Today we’re going to be going over our top 10 LMS must-have features. There are so many great and useful features that Learning Management Systems offer, but it can be easy to lose sight over the ones that companies should prioritize.
- Analytics/Dashboard:
One of the great benefits of choosing a formalized training system is a clear way to evaluate progress through data. While implementing a training process is a great first step, it means very little without the follow-through analytics to back it up. - Certificates/Badges:
These allow learners to show off their progress internally and externally, and provide a great element of gamification. - Transcripts:
Learners need a way to easily access courses that they have already taken, as well as ones that are due soon. Transcripts provide a straightforward way to visually see and sort all of the training in one place. - Customization and Branding:
Customization and branding allow corporate operations to reflect their company’s logos, colors, missions, and values, as well as the overall brand. - External Training Uploads:
Training doesn’t always happen in the same place. If you want to include learners’ training records completed outside of the learning management system, external training uploads are the way to go. With this feature, administrators will have the option to add a training date, file name, or file URL, resulting in an effective way to import training from other sources onto your LMS. - Great User Experience:
It’s important to have a self-explanatory and easy to navigate user interface so employees can get in, do their training, and get out without taking up your administration’s time. - Social Media Sharing:
While learning, users should feel like they’re making progress. One innovative way to do this is having a platform that integrates with social media. - SCORM Conversion Tool:
A SCORM is a common file that most LMS’s take for its courses. Having a SCORM conversion tool allows you to take your own assets like video and PowerPoint and put them in the LMS. Ideally, an LMS will have this feature, but if they don’t, there are also great standalone tools that do this, like Scormify. - Supports Multiple Languages:
In order for learners around the world to get the skills they need, multilingual functionality is imperative. - Personalized Support:
Truth is, there are many e-learning companies today with great technology. The key is to find one that also understands your organization’s goals and will strategize with you to help you achieve them. Your provider should introduce you to the system and train you on how to make it your own. They should also be checking in frequently to see if any assistance is necessary.
At Knowledge Anywhere, we have a 25-year history of successful partnerships. We’re focused on a customer-centric approach—we don’t just sell our products and disappear. We strategize and assist organizations as they utilize our e-learning tools to engage, empower, and inspire their workforce. Think of us as an extension to your own team. And while our learning technology is pretty cool, we think our people really make the difference when it comes to our customers’ success.
