We can improve your training in less than 5 minutes. TAKE OUR QUIZ
Completing a course isn’t the same as earning a certification. Certifications in the Knowledge Anywhere LMS are designed for organizations that need to go further. With structured learning paths, validated assessments, expiration dates, renewal workflows, and formal credential records, you can build certification programs that are clear for learners and easy for administrators to manage.
Define the training, exams, evidence, pre-work, post-work, test-out options, and completion order learners must follow to earn a certification. Create multiple paths for different learner groups, support external or classroom training, offer content in multiple languages, and use AI-assisted tools to speed up course and assessment creation.
Validate learner competency with configurable assessments. Set passing scores, time limits, attempt limits, navigation restrictions, accommodations, and more. Use AI-assisted assessment drafting to speed up question creation, then refine and validate the final question set before launch.
Question pooling helps protect exam integrity by giving each learner a different assessment experience while drawing from a controlled bank of validated questions. You can also use the same question pool across course assessments and final certification exams to maintain consistency throughout the program.
Certifications automates the workflow while keeping your team in control where human review matters.
Designated administrators can approve enrollments, review external training evidence, validate exam results, and authorize additional exam attempts. Each request can be approved or denied with an optional message and a cooldown period before resubmission. Everything is managed from one centralized approval queue, giving your team clear visibility without jumping between multiple screens.
Certification requirement evolve, your certification program should be able to evolve just as easily.
With built-in version management, you can update requirements, content, exams, or program rules without disrupting learners already in progress. Learners remain tied to the version they started, while new learners are assigned the latest published version — ensuring every learner has a consistent, fair, and clearly documented certification experience.
Need to support recurring certifications? We have you covered. Configure a recertification path with its own training content, exam, pricing, and certificate. Set renewal intervals, early-start windows, and grace periods.
The system automatically tracks expiration dates, opens recertification windows, and marks certifications as lapsed when requirements are not completed. Your administrators get a cleaner process, and learners get a clear path to stay current.
Our robust notification system keeps learners on track and administrators informed by sending automated email reminders for key certification events, including earned certifications, upcoming expirations, pending approvals, recertification windows, and team-level certification activity.
Configure as many or as few reminders as your program requires, so the right people receive the right information at the right time.
Recognize achievement with formal, trackable certificates or digital badges. Configure separate certificate templates for initial certification and recertification. Administrators can revoke certificates when needed, require selected users to recertify, or restrict users from future certifications.
Certifications is built to support both internal programs and revenue-generating credentialing models.
Configure pricing for initial certification enrollment, additional exam attempts, and recertification enrollment. Multi-currency support allows you to set different pricing by currency, making it easier to support broader learner audiences.
You can also define a set number of free exam attempts before overage fees apply, giving learners a fair opportunity to pass while protecting the value and integrity of your certification program.
A Certification is a structured program in the Knowledge Anywhere LMS that defines the training steps, exams, and requirements a learner must complete to earn a formal certification. It supports the full certification lifecycle — initial certification, expiration, and recertification.
Learning paths, checklists, and certifications all allow you to assign training to learners, but offer different capabilities:
Yes. Each Certification has a configurable completion rule — steps can be required in order, or learners can complete them in any sequence.
Each training step supports multiple completion path types: online training (courses, assessments, learning paths), test-out assessments, classroom training (including pre- and post-work), resource documents, and external training with evidence of submission. Multiple completion paths on a single step act as equivalencies — learners can satisfy the requirement through whichever path applies to them.
Yes. Certifications include version management. When you publish an updated version, learners who are already mid-certification remain pinned to the version they started. New learners enroll on the current published version.
If your Certification expires, you can configure a recertification cycle with its own training content, assessment, and certificate template. The system automatically tracks expiration dates, opens the recertification window, enforces a grace period, and marks certifications as lapsed if the learner does not recertify in time.
Yes. External training submissions and certain exam completions can require admin approval before credit is granted. Access requests (for protected paths) and attempt-limit increase requests are also routed to an admin approval queue.
Yes. Each Certification has its own notification settings. You can turn individual notification types on or off, configure the expiration reminder schedule (e.g., 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before expiration), and designate which admins receive admin-side notifications.
